For the right to housing in the Region of Murcia

The UGT union, together with a dozen associations and collectives, is promoting a popular legislative initiative (ILP) at the regional level to develop the Autonomous Housing Act of 2015 and for the Autonomous Community to recover the registration of housing claimants and the right of preferential acquisition and of trial and retraction in the second and subsequent transmission to affected people. The intention of this ILP is for the Region of Murcia to begin creating a public housing stock, since currently only 0.39% of the total number of homes built are publicly owned.

History

In the words of Miguel Lajarín, Secretary of Youth and Diversity of UGT Region of Murcia, and as a promoter in addition to this initiative, “access to housing has become a social emergency; the increasing difficulty in finding decent housing and being able to afford it must wake up the regional government and the parliamentary groups of the Assembly to support this ILP and develop the regional housing law of 2015, which is untouched”.
